“Is it time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, and this temple to lie in ruins?” “You have sown much, and bring in little; You eat, but do not have enough; You drink, but you are not filled with drink; You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; And he who earns wages, Earns wages to put into a bag with holes.”- Haggai 1:4, 6 NKJV
Beloved, Have you made a home for Christ in your heart yet? Are you living in Christ or in paneled houses? The Lord does not live in a house built by human hands and we his children do not either. Moses wrote in Psalm 90:1 "Lord, through all the generations you have been our home!
Ephesians 1:4 says "Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes." This union is only made possible by the Holy Spirit. If God does not live in us and we in him as it has been in all generations, things will go out of place. It is like taking a fish out of water.
That is why our opening verse says "You have sown much, and bring in little; You eat, but do not have enough; You drink, but you are not filled with drink; You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; And he who earns wages, Earns wages to put into a bag with holes.” This shows how loving and merciful God is. Why? Because if He is not , He would not remind us of the implications of not making a home for him and us.
Beloved, as children of God, Christ lives in us, but we have to abide in him and him in us. As Children of obedience, we abide in Christ by obeying his commands “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. (John 14:23 )
"My command is this: Love one another as I have loved you" (John 15:12)
MAY THE PEACE OF THE LORD BE WITH US ALWAYS
WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO MAKE A HOME FOR GOD IN OUR HEARTS AND LIVE IN HIM AND WALK IN THIS CONSCIOUSNESS ALL THE DAYS OF OUR LIVES IN JESUS NAME AMEN!
THANK YOU JESUS!
