ARE YOU BURNING AND SHINING

He was the burning and shining lamp, and you were willing for a time to rejoice in his light. - John 5:35 NKJV

John the Baptist in our text, did not receive the spirit to Burn and shine until he encountered Jesus while he was in the womb.(Luke 1:41) We can also burn and shine by spending time with Jesus through word meditations. Psalm 1 tells us that He who ponders the Lord day and night will yield fruit in due season. How? "For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us".(II Corinthians 1:20 NKJV)

The more we ponder, meditate on His words, the Holy Spirit transforms us by taking great burning and shining values from Jesus, such as love, joy, meekness, peacemakers, courage, wisdom etc. and declares to us. So we can by His power reflect them to the world as salts and light.

Remember the apostles, before they received the Holy Spirit, they were living in fear and so on, but after they received the Spirit, they were burning and shining, bold and courageous. The Bible says "When they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.(Acts 4:13 NKJV)

SPEND TIME WITH JESUS!
