AVOID HUMAN PRAISES

At her mother’s urging, the girl said, “I want the head of John the Baptist on a tray!” Then the king regretted what he had said; but because of the vow he had made in front of his guests, he issued the necessary orders - Matthew 14:8‭-‬9 NLT

We should avoid human praises. Jesus once told the Pharisees that they love human praises but lack the love of God in their hearts ( John 5). In the Bible, "Herod feared John, knowing him to be a righteous and holy man, and kept him in custody. But had to kill him because of his oath and guests.( Matthew 14)

Human praise has a strong correlation to the lack of God's love in the heart. The Bible says ".. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him".(I John 2:15)

Both love of the world and human praises are of the flesh, originating from the fallen state of humanity, and those in the flesh cannot please God, for flesh is in enmity with God. Thank God we are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, so we must not listen to its dictates. (See Romans 8)

That is why the Bible says "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,"

(I Timothy 2:1‭-‬3 NKJV)

WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO AVOID HUMAN PRAISES TO THE GLORY OF GOD THE FATHER IN JESUS NAME AMEN!

THANK YOU JESUS!
