Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” - Hebrews 13:5 NKJV
Beloved, as we conclude our series on contentment, let us assure ourselves of this truth, no matter the circumstances we are facing, God does not leave himself without a witness (Acts 14:17) As a witness that we are His children, He gave us His Spirit. The reason we are not content is because we focus on the wrong witness, our senses.
The Lord said "Your Law requires two witnesses to prove that something is true. I am one of my witnesses, and the Father who sent me is the other one.(John 8:17-18 CEV) This same way, our spirit is one witness and Spirit of the Lord is the other witness in our lives. For "The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God," (Romans 8:16 NKJV)
Holy Spirit is the one that bears witness with our spirit and not our senses. So the only barrier to being contented with what we have is our senses.
For example, the Holy Spirit testifies this "I will never leave you nor forsake you.” That should bring contentment and joy to our heart, but many are not content, hence don't live joyfully because they believe the testimony of their senses. "Can two walk together unless they agree?"
That is why the Bible says "If we say we share in life with God and keep on living in the dark, we are lying and are not living by the truth. But if we live in the light, as God does, we share in life with each other. And the blood of his Son Jesus washes all our sins away.(1 John 1:6-7 CEV)
WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO ACCEPT THE TESTIMONY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT AND BE CONTENT, TO THE GLORY OF GOD THE FATHER IN JESUS NAME AMEN!
THANK YOU JESUS!
