These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33 NKJV
OUR text is the Lord's last statement to the apostles before He prayed and went into passion. If only we can hold unto it, our life will be tremendously blessed. No matter what we face in life, the Lord has overcome for us already! Glory! The Lord said, "Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.”
(John 8:56 NKJV)
How did Abraham see it? By faith. We should also live His days by the faith of Jesus who has overcome the world for us. Hebrews 11:13 NIV says, "All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth."
Imagine the faith Abraham has, though rich, yet lived like a pilgrim, and joyfully welcomed God's promises from a distance. That's Why the Lord wants us to be courageous, "For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." (2 Corinthians 4:17-18 NIV)
WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO BE COURAGEOUS BY TRUSTING THE LORD WHO HAD OVERCOME FOR US IN JESUS NAME AMEN!
THANK YOU JESUS!
