BE LOYAL TO AUTHORITIES

Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God

- Romans 13:1 NKJV

Our Lord Jesus teaches us to obey those in authority saying: “The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do." (Matthew 23:2‭-‬3 NKJV)

Though we are not of this world, we have to be subject to governing authorities. Pilate has no authority over Jesus, in John 19:11, the Lord said to Pilate “You could have no power at all against Me unless it had been given you from above", yet He obeyed him till death.

Let us not also isolate ourselves from authorities, instead pray for them. The scripture says "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.(I Timothy 2:1‭-‬2 NKJV) Remember, "king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, Like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes. "(Proverbs 21:1 NKJV)
