BE SELFLESS

“Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea.- Matthew 18:6 NKJV

Believers can easily cause one another to sin than unbelievers. It is very important that we watch what we do and say all the time, especially among the weak. Our salvation is a gift, a priceless gift, a pearl of great value. We must guard it jealously till the coming of Christ.

Christianity is the most persecuted religion in the world. Why? Because God himself lives in us and the devil hates God, "they hated both Me and My Father." (John 15:24) That is one of the reasons why the world is plagued with sexual immorality of any kind. Because it is the only sin against the body, which is where God lives. The idea is to quench the Spirit of God from dominating the world through us. Why ? The Lord said "They hated Me without a cause.’(John 15:25)

A child of God is a light in any environment he or she lives. Imagine when two temples of God are defiled because of sexual immorality, how dark that environment will be. "But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!(Matthew 6:23)

Beloved, let us use this period of advent to reflect on what it means that Christ lives in us. We protect God's temple the same way we care for our eyes. Two key things: walk in love and selflessly. Philippians 2:4 says "Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others."
