¶ There were present at the same time some that told him of the Galilaeans whose blood Pilate had mingled with his sacrifices. And Jesus, answering, said unto them, Think ye that these Galilaeans suffered such things because they were greater sinners than all the other Galilaeans? I tell you, No; but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
Luke 13:1-3 JUB
Many have died in this pandemic, but we are alive, not because we are better than them, but by his grace. God, keeping us alive through his grace is not for us to continue in sin, but to repent and bear fruit that will last.
He said about it in a parable, regarding a man who wanted to cut down his fig tree because it didn't bear fruit, but the gardener said: “Master, leave it for another year. I'll dig around it and put some manure on it to make it grow. Maybe it will have figs on it next year. If it doesn't, you can have it cut down.”(Luke 13:8-9)
Beloved, when we were dead in sin, God, by his special grace, did not cut us off, instead He cultivated, fertilized and manured us in Christ so we can bear fruits. That is, we are ingrafted into the true Vine, Christ, we receive the necessary sap needed to bear fruit from him.
This means that nothing prevents us from bearing fruits unless we don't abide in him. Remember He said "He who does not abide in me shall be cast forth as an unsound branch and shall wither, and they are gathered and cast into the fire and are burned.(John 15:6 JUB)
How do we abide in him? Through holy Communion, scripture and doing whatever He says! Soon the grace period is over, the owner of the figs returns for harvest, what will be our fate? As the gardener says " Maybe it will have figs on it next year. If it doesn't, you can have it cut down"
WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO ABIDE IN HIM SO AS TO BEAR FRUIT THAT WILL LAST TO THE GLORY OF GOD THE FATHER IN JESUS NAME AMEN!
THANK YOU JESUS!
