CUT HIM IN TWO

The woman whose son was alive was deeply moved out of love for her son and said to the king, “Please, my Lord, give her the living baby! Don’t kill him!” But the other said, “Neither I nor you shall have him. Cut him in two!” - 1 Kings 3:26 NIV

It was difficult for Mary, the Blessed Mother of our Lord Jesus to watch her beloved and innocent son tortured to death, yet deeply moved out of love for her son, chose to have her soul pierced till the end as she freely gave up her son rather than have him CUT INTO TWO"

Why cut into two? God made a covenant with Abraham. In that covenant, the animals were cut into halves and God himself passed between the halves in the form of a smoking firepot with a flaming torch. ( See Genesis 15) Signifying that If He doesn't fulfill the terms of the covenant, He himself will be cut into halves.

Jeremiah 34:18 NIV confirms this "Those who have violated my covenant and have not fulfilled the terms of the covenant they made before me, I will treat like the calf they cut in two and then walked between its pieces."

Do we persevere in trials and temptations so as to promote the work of God on earth, as Mary did? or do we turn our back on God when the going gets tough?

WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO STAND STRONG FOR THE LORD IN GOOD AND IN BAD TIMES, IN JESUS NAME AMEN!

THANK YOU JESUS!
