AUTHORITY IN JESUS NAME

In Your name they rejoice all day long, - Psalms 89:16

Our text is telling us here that in the name of Jesus we are past the victory level, or conquering level, all we do is just REJOICING. We are no longer trying to conquer, or say we have conquered in his name, rather we are rejoicing in his name, because his name already made us conquerors, overcomers.

That's why the scripture says that "in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

Romans 8:37. Let's never be dismayed by our earthly circumstances, for no matter how challenging, we are more than conquerors because we live in his name.

For instance, The Lord said “Because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.” [Psalms 91:14‭-‬16 ]

We can see from the above verse that the Lord's name does the work and not us. Our only work is to be conscious of his name at all times, trusting in the authority of his name, let's not just run into it during crisis, rather live in it. Just as a police man's uniform commands authority, without which he or she is not recognized, the name of the Lord is our authority in life , our strong tower [Prov 18:10]

We pray for the grace to trust in the name of Jesus to the glory of God the Father in Jesus name!

AUTHORITY IN JESUS NAME II

Holy Father, you have given me your name; now protect them by the power of your name so that they will be united just as we are - John 17:11

Our text was taken from the Lord's farewell prayer right before He freely went into passion. So we are already living under the authority of his name as citizens of God's kingdom.This distinguishes us from the rest of the world.

This is our authority and it is not based on our sufficiency but on where we come from. This is similar to Jesus, while He was on earth, He was operating under the name God gave him. The Lord said "The words I speak are not my own, but my Father who lives in me does his work through me - John 14:10

The key to living in his name is ascribing power to him. Seeing ourselves as insufficient but our sufficiency comes from him. Seeing ourselves as the centurion said in Matthew 8:8 “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.

We have to see things from God's perspective and not ours. Staying conscious of his divinity as sharers of his divine nature. Just as the Lord said " With man it is impossible but with God all things are possible (Matt 19:26) We should learn how to decrease so the power in his name can manifest in our lives. Remember his power works best in our weaknesses.

We pray for the grace to grow in the knowledge of his name in Jesus name Amen!

AUTHORITY IN JESUS NAME III

During my time here, I protected them by the power of the name you gave me. John 17:12

If a baby is given an iPad, the baby might not know how to make good use of its features until the baby grows up. The same goes with every person born into the kingdom of God, you have to grow in the knowledge of the culture of the kingdom. We need to know how to live in his name, that's our way of life in God's kingdom.

That's why the scripture says: The heir, as long as he is a child, is no different from a slave, though he is the owner of everything, but he is under guardians and managers until the date set by his father" - Galatians 4:1‭-‬2

We have a great inheritance in Jesus, the Lord wants us to grow up so as to take hold of our inheritance.Remember we are kings and not slaves. The Lord has given us his name, and that is eternal life, if we don't know it,we don't use it.

Remember the words of the Lord "this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth [John 17:3] Word meditation is the Spiritual milk we need to grow up in the kingdom of God.

We pray for the grace to grow in the knowledge of his name and our inheritance to the glory of God the Father, in Jesus name Amen!
