At Horeb they made a calf and worshiped a molten image. They exchanged their Glory for the image of a grass-eating ox.
Psalms 106:19-20 BSB
We have only one holy exchange to live by, the one that took place on the cross: "God made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God."
(2 Corinthians 5:21 BSB) OUR OLD IMAGE WAS EXCHANGED WITH THE IMAGE OF JESUS. So, " as He is, so are we now in this world "
The Israelites in our theme verse, ran out of patience in waiting for Moses. and reduced themselves to the worship of Idols, Ox, thereby "They exchanged their Glory for the image of a grass-eating ox". In this world, we might go through tribulations as Jesus said. It could be in our finances, marriages, health and wellbeing, length of days etc, let us not allow it to define us.
We should not exchange our glory of the cross of Jesus Christ with the image of our earthly circumstances, by worshiping our earthly circumstances and allowing them to define us. But rather, through faith and endurance focus on our real image, Jesus! The Bible says "Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in human likeness.
(Philippians 2:5-7 BSB)
WE ARE CHILDREN OF HOPE, WE MIGHT NOT SEE IT ALL NOW, BUT WE HAVE IT ALL, WHY? BECAUSE GOD HAS SAID IT AND HE HAS THE FINAL SAY !
WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO DEFINE OUR CIRCUMSTANCES AND NOT BE DEFINED BY THEM IN JESUS NAME AMEN!
THANK YOU JESUS!
