Blessed are the people who know the joyful shout. They walk, O Lord, in the light of Your presence.
- Psalms 89:15 MEV
Joyful shout is translated from the Hebrew word "teruah" meaning acclaim, joyful shout, sounds of joy, battle cry. Our verse is telling us that those who acclaim him, walk in the light of His presence. How? Because God dwells in the praises of His children ( Psalms 22:3)
Remember how the walls of Jericho fell down with a loud shout: "When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have the whole army give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the army will go up, everyone straight in.”
(Joshua 6:5 NIV)
How did a loud shout bring down a strong Jericho wall, with gates securely barred? Because this is not an ordinary shout, it is a joyful shout with faith. Hebrews 11:30 NIV says "By faith the walls of Jericho fell, after the army had marched around them for seven days." And faith comes from hearing the word.
So we acclaim Him with faith in His words irrespective of our earthly circumstances or challenges. That is how we stay joyful. No wonder the Bible says "Blessed are the people who know the joyful shout. They walk, O Lord, in the light of Your presence. In Your name they rejoice all the day, and in Your righteousness they shall be exalted. For You are the beauty of their strength; by Your favor our horn is exalted. (Psalms 89:15-17 MEV)
WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO ACCLAIM HIM FOR ALL HE HAS DONE FOR US IN CHRIST, IN JESUS NAME AMEN!
THANK YOU JESUS!
