GOD GIVES THE POWER TO GET WEALTH

“And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day - Deuteronomy 8:18 NKJV

We can see from our text that the power to get wealth is not from our strength, hereditary or ancestral, rather from God, His covenant; "that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day." We can also see from the same verse that He has done it already, how? "

This oath He swore by Himself to Abraham, He has fulfilled in Christ. The Bible says "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.(II Corinthians 8:9 NKJV)

So we are not responsible for the power to get wealth, God is, but we are accountable if we do not abide in Christ. One might say, how about those who are not in Christ yet are wealthy. Remember the Bible tells us that a man's wealth is not judged by how much he possesses. For the fact that God allows rain to fall for both good and bad does not mean all are wealthy, For He gives food to even the wild animals, yet they hunger. But those who God feeds lack no good thing. (Psalm 34:10)

Beloved, relax, let us not rate our wealth by our senses, what we see, have, do or by our strength but by the Spirit "that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day." Think of the baby wrapped in cloths lying in the manger, yet is the monarch of the universe. Know this: because our wealth is sealed in an everlasting covenant, no matter how dark the economy is, we shall never lack.
