GOD IS NOT A PERFORMANCE-BASED GOD

And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
Hebrews 11:6 NLT
God is not a performance-based God. Is He pleased with our good works and obedience? Of course He is. But we should never try to approach God based on our performance. Our works may please Him, but they can never become the basis on which we come to Him.
Consider the Tower of Babel.( Genesis 11) God acknowledged what the people were accomplishing, but He did not allow their human effort to become a ladder to reach Him. There is only one Ladder to heaven—Jesus Christ.( John 1:51)
In Acts 10, God was pleased with Cornelius, a Roman army officer, because of his devotion to God, his prayers, and his generosity to the poor. Yet Cornelius still needed to be directed to Peter to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ.
It is impossible to truly please God without faith in what He has done for us through Christ Jesus. We were made right with God not by our performance, but by faith in what Christ has accomplished. We have peace with God not because we performed well enough, but because we have been justified by faith. (Romans 5:1)
This is why Habakkuk 2:4 TPT says,
“Look at the proud, puffed up with pride! They are crooked to the core. But the righteous will live by his faith.” That is, only those who God made right with Himself by their faith in what He has done for us in Christ, will reign in life by their faith in what He has done for us in Christ Jesus.
Romans 5:17 NIV says, “ For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!
WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO LIVE BY WHAT GOD HAS DONE IN CHRIST TO SET US RIGHT WITH HIMSELF AND NOT BY WHAT WE CAN DO TO BE RIGHT WITH GOD IN JESUS NAME, AMEN!.
