GOD'S DELAY IS NOT DENIAL III
SURRENDER TO HIS LEAD
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Matthew 6:13 ESV
Exodus 13:17 NIV says, “When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, ‘If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.’”
God knew that the shorter route could expose them to a battle they were not yet prepared to face and hence fall back to captivity, so He led them through a longer one to the red sea. Sometimes we wonder why there are unnecessary delays in our answers, or our journey is taking so long, it is just that God is leading us away from the path that could make us fall back to our old ways. He leads us away from temptations.
God sees what we cannot see. He knows the battles ahead, the pressures we may encounter, and the things that could cause us to return to what He has already delivered us from. Remember we are kept in His name. Psalm 23:3 says, “He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.”
Let us trust His lead in all trials, surrender for He will not forsake us. Trust God even when His route does not make sense. He is not merely taking you somewhere; He is preparing you for where He is taking you.
WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO SURRENDER TO HIS LEAD EVEN WHEN WE CANNOT SEE THE WAY FORWARD, IN JESUS NAME AMEN!
