... And do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.
Nehemiah 8:10 ESV
Our theme verse was Nehemiah telling the children of Israel not to grieve anymore about their circumstances, for the joy of the Lord is their strength. Have you made your circumstances the source of your joy, or the Lord? Circumstances fluctuate and can cause grief, but the Lord is always good, He does not change or cast a shifting shadow!
Romans 8:33 ESV says, “ Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.” Think of this if God is the One who justifies, which circumstances can rule over us? If God is the only One who heals, which sickness can molest us? If God is the only One who saves, which sin and trouble can overcome us?
Remember, we did not choose ourselves, He chose us. Romans 8:30 ESV says, “And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.” Let us rest our joy in the Lord and not in our circumstances, for “He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.” (1 Thessalonians 5:24 ESV)
WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO MAKE THE JOY OF THE LORD OUR STRENGTH TO THE GLORY OF GOD THE FATHER IN JESUS NAME AMEN!
THANK YOU JESUS!
