HE IS OUR SUN AND OUR SHIELD III

For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.

Psalms 84:11 NLT

Hebrews 2:11 NIV says "Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters."

There is a confidence here, we are not made holy by our merits or from somewhere else, to be identified as God's children, rather by Jesus himself. That is, we are not going somewhere to get holiness and then present qualifications to be admitted into God's family, the Lord is all we need. This is so comforting, no wonder He calls us His brothers and sisters. That is why He is the sun and the shield.

This means He is treating us now as His brothers and sisters. 1 John 3:2 NIV says

"Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is."

Beloved, this is grace that the same person that makes us Holy is our brother, think calmly what that means!

WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO BE COURAGEOUS FOR OUR LORD, THE CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE IS OUR SUN AND SHIELD, IN JESUS NAME AMEN!
