HOLY SHEPHERD III

He makes me to lie down in green pastures; … Psalms 23:2 NKJV

Verse 3 says "...He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake." What makes Lilly, a Lily, is not from the environment, but the nature God puts in it. We sleep not primarily because of our good bed or music but because God put sleep in us. That is why when sleep comes, we can fall asleep in the worst conditions, even when driving.

This same way, our shepherd, in all things, makes us lie down in green pastures from his Spirit in us. Psalm 85:13 NKJV says that "Righteousness will go before Him, And shall make His footsteps our pathway." Righteousness is God's way of doing things right, it separates God from evil. This means that our pathway is free of evil, no failures, sickness, sorrows or weeping.

Why are His footsteps our pathway? Remember the Hebrew word "Asah" meaning to make , build or produce. He made us in Christ, his image and likeness. " As He is, so are we in this world". (I John 4:17) So in all things, our feet are his feet, this way we can lie down in green pastures, that is prosper in all things.

This means we display his Omnipotence daily. Our duty is to abide in him, that is why Psalm 17:5 says "My steps have held fast to thy paths, My feet have not slipped."

WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO ABIDE IN HIM AS THE SHEEP IN HIS FLOCK IN JESUS NAME, AMEN!
