HOLY SHEPHERD VI

He makes me to lie down in green pastures; … Psalms 23:2 NKJV

Verse 4 continues "….Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me."

God's rod and staff is his words, teachings, his faithful promises. We cannot navigate this world peacefully and safely without the word of God. Psalm 119:138. ESV says "You have appointed your testimonies in righteousness and in all faithfulness." And those faithful promises are our "shield and buckler". No sheep can lie in green pastures without the shepherd's rod and staff.

Ecclesiastes 12:11 ERV says "Words from the wise are like sharp goads. When these sayings are written down and saved, they can be used to guide people, just as a shepherd uses a sharp stick to make his sheep go the right way"

Do you want to live a heavenly life on earth, a path of peace and righteousness? Stand by his rod and staff. No wonder psalm 119: 50 says " This is my comfort in my affliction, that your promise gives me life" Whenever I am anxious and worried, you comfort me and make me glad.(Psalms 94:19 ) Why? "Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me."

WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO ABIDE IN HIM AS THE SHEEP IN HIS FLOCK IN JESUS NAME, AMEN!
