KEEP YOUR TORCH LIT

“Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming - Matthew 25:13 NKJV

The Lord is telling us here to be vigilant, watch as if we see the Son of Man coming. We watch with joy and not with fear. St. Paul said " Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.(I Thessalonians 5:6‭, ‬8‭-‬9 NKJV)

He emphasized on how to watch: "putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation." This way we remain alert, incorporate more love, and motivate one another in keeping their collective "torches" lit. We abide in Him always, that is to align our thoughts with His thoughts, live in a conscious mindset that His death is our death, and His life is our life. " as He is so are we in this world" (I John 4:17)

For instance, when we receive communion, we proclaim His death, that is we are dead to sin, and profess His resurrection, that is, we are alive to righteousness. That is how we are transformed daily, a life of grace. Remember He is coming to gather those He purchased, we didn't purchase ourselves, our qualification is not from us but from Him. We do this daily with this joyful hope, " For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ." This way we are keeping our torches lit.
