MANNER OF SPIRIT

A) LOVE YOUR ENEMIES

When His disciples James and John saw this, they said, “Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and destroy them?” But He turned and rebuked them [ and He said, “You do not know what kind of spirit you are; for the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them.” ] And they journeyed on to another village.- Luke 9:54‭-‬56 AMP

Brothers and sisters, we are born of God, we have the same spirit as God. We don't fear evil, evil fears us, we don't pray for our enemies to die, rather we pray for God to rescue them from the kingdom of darkness. The Lord said "But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you (Matthew 5:44). The Lord said to Saul "I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God," (Acts 26:17‭-‬18 )

When the Bible says "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live."Exodus 22:18 That doesn't mean we should kill them, rather we cast the witchcraft out and rescue the children of God. " Our weapon of warfare is not carnal" " We don't wrestle against flesh and blood" in Mark 16:17, the Lord gave us the power to cast demons out and not to kill demon possessed people.

"The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof". Psalm 115:16 says "The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord's : but the earth hath he given to the children of men". We don't need any legal right to cast the demons out.. We have been empowered to trample upon them and to destroy them. In Ex23:24 God gave us the command not to serve them but to destroy them..

B) PARTNERS WITH CHRIST

Say to them, ‘As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord , I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die, people of Israel?’

Ezekiel 33:11 NIV

The Lord said in Isaiah 42:16 "I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, And crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, And not forsake them."

Know that Jesus bought the whole world with his blood, including our enemies, do you imagine He will answer your prayer of " kill my enemy" and kill someone He bought with his blood ? As partners with Christ, joint heirs, We are supposed to be harvesters, we gather with Jesus not scatter.

Instead of destroying our enemies, He said in Ez 36:25, " I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols."

Brothers and sisters we are the righteousness of God in Christ, we uphold God's law and maintain orderliness in our communities. 2Cor10:5 says "We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."

We do this in the spirit because our battle field is spiritual not physical. " For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."-Eph 6:12

C) PRUDENCE

“I will not talk with you much longer. The ruler of this world is coming. He has no power over me. But the world must know that I love the Father. So I do exactly what the Father told me to do. “Come now, let’s go.”

John 14:30‭-‬31 ERV

Sometimes, the enemy does not come at us directly, He comes through humans, especially people very close to us. Instead of trying to battle one another physically just to boost the ego, you instead do what Jesus did in our opening verse, close your eyes and walk. This is called prudence , it is not cowardice.

Proverbs 22:3 says "The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty". Many innocent lives have been lost through such ways; husbands and wives killing each other, children versus parents, brothers and sisters as well as friends, even in government offices and at the workplace. We become victims to fights instigated by the enemy, while he watches us kill one another.

That is why the Lord said " be innocent as a lamb and wise as a serpent" David prayed in

Psalm 51:6 "make me therefore to know wisdom in my inmost heart." That is the wisdom of God in our spirit and not wisdom of the world.

We have to apply the wisdom of God in our day to day life, for we are wrestling with principalities, thrones and powers of darkness, and not flesh and blood. We don't fight one another, because we are one with our heavenly Father. We save souls and don't destroy them. As children of God, we trade vices for virtues.

D) KNOW THE WILL OF GOD

On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” -Mark 2:17

If the Lord came for sinners how can we be praying to him against our enemies. Those our enemies might be his strayed and lost sheep He came to find. He said "Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince of this world will be driven out. And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw ALL PEOPLE to myself.”John 12:31‭-‬32

So, this is his plan: He came to cast out satan the true enemy and gather "ALL PEOPLE to himself. That is why the Bible says " I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for ALL PEOPLE, This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants ALL PEOPLE to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth." (1 Tim 2:1‭, ‬3‭-‬4)

Also, Titus 2:11 says "For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to ALL PEOPLE." So if this is God's plan for humanity, then if we are praying for our enemy to die, we are making the work of his grace of no effect, thereby we are praying to ourselves.

E) DEFINE YOUR BATTLE FIELD

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.- Colossians 3:1 NIV

We are the righteousness of God in Christ. We might be asking ourselves why is it not reflecting in our lives. If we ponder the job description, it defines our area of authority, that is in Christ, and Christ is Spirit. That makes the spiritual realm our domain of function. Remember, we have crossed over from death to life, and we are the children of the Holy Ghost, that makes us spirit beings.

So, we carry out our duties on earth in the spirit. It is when we silence the principalities and authorities of darkness in the heavenly places that we can take possession of the physical. That means spiritually, we bring any disorderliness and lawlessness into conformity to God's will in thought and deed,

The enemy loves us when we remain in the human level, for we are still the pawn in his chess game. But when we come up to spiritual, he bows. That is why gal 4 :1 says that "the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all,"

Therefore, if we want to activate our staff of office, that is function at the spiritual to enjoy inheritance as kings and prophets of God, we have to activate the power of God in us through word meditation, holy communion and praying and singing in the spirit.

F) GUARD OUR THOUGHTS

Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.

Proverbs 4:23 NLT

Brothers and sisters, there is a device the enemy uses to come at us. He knows we are the same image and likeness as our Heavenly Father, and have creative minds and thoughts. He knows He cannot attack us directly because we are in Christ, our protective walls of fire. Also Angels are around us all the time. So he operates through our hearts and minds.(What do we have to think, say or do about this or that?)

Cain was angry because God accepted Abel"s sacrifice and not his, God knowing the implications of his anger warned him " watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.”(Genesis 4:7 ) Did he listen? No, he ended up committing evil. This same Spirit of God still talks to us today, especially when we are angry .

Those evil thoughts we have against one another, including the negative thoughts we have for ourselves, even when we don't carry them out, gives satan a foothold in our lives. It gives him direct access into our lives. That is why the Lord said "I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire.- Matthew 5:22

The angry thoughts and bad words we say to one another, give Satan room to act on it. So we have to guard our hearts. "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.(Luke 6:45)

The anger itself is not sin, but when it bears fruit in our heart, leading to grudges and evil thoughts, it releases weapons. Thats why the bible says"And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry,(Eph 4:26)

Let's not be ignorant of the devices of the evil one and watch out for one another in these last days, for we are one. The best way to live is to have the mind of God, live as those that have crossed from death to life. The mind of “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”(Heb 10:17)

The heart that forgives and covers sin(Ps 85:2)
