NO MORE SPIRITUAL DEATH

At about three o’clock, Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” which means “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?”- Matthew 27:46 NLT

The Lord's death was not just physical but also spiritual. God abandoned him, who was made sin for our sake. We were dead in trespasses, hence cut off from God's care, love, Righteousness, wonders, and faithfulness etc

The Bible says this about it: "I am forsaken among the dead, like the slain who lie in the grave, whom You remember no more, who are cut off from Your care. Can Your loving devotion be proclaimed in the grave, Your faithfulness in Abaddon? Will Your wonders be known in the darkness, or Your righteousness in the land of oblivion? (Psalms 88:5‭, ‬11‭-‬12 BSB)

Jesus being our representative, suffered all this for us, so we don't go through it. anymore. Romans 6:9 BSB says "For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, He cannot die again; death no longer has dominion over Him.

The same way, since we were raised with him to a new life, we will not die again, this includes spiritual death. We are alive to God's care, His Love, mercy, wonders  ,faithfulness and righteousness. That is why Psalms 85:10 BSB says "Loving devotion and faithfulness have joined together; righteousness and peace have kissed."

WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO REMAIN ALIVE TO GOD BY ABIDING IN HIM TO THE GLORY OF GOD THE FATHER IN JESUS NAME AMEN
