OUR FAITHFUL WITNESS I

THE BLOOD

And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one.

I John 5:8 NKJV

The blood in our verse, called us out of this world, out of darkness, slavery, sin and distress. We are in a covenant sealed by the blood that we are the children of God. The blood sets us apart from evil. So, if any power of darkness shows up and sees the blood in us, it backs off. Remember "when I see the blood I will pass over you" (Exodus 12:13)

Christ is the Passover Lamb, So, when we partake in the blood, through Holy Communion, we partake in the Lord's passover. Just as during the Passover meal in Egypt, God was passing judgement on all the gods of Egypt (Ex 12:12) also, because we partake in His blood, He passes judgement on any power of darkness oppressing us.

Beloved, this is not just an ordinary promise, but an oath God swore to himself in a covenant sealed with the blood of his Son. Zechariah 9:11 says " Because of the covenant I made with you, sealed with blood, I will free your prisoners from death in a waterless dungeon".

This blood is our great advocate in all things, especially in these troubled days. It speaks for us that we are children of God. " the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel." Hebrews 12:24

Remember, we are associates in this covenant, we live in unbroken fellowship with the blood. We cannot partake in the blood as well as in the things of darkness. Supposed some Israelites who took part in the passover meal refused to leave Egypt, what would have been their fate?

BLESSED ARE YOU GOD THE LOVING FATHER OF OUR LORD JESUS, FOR WE ARE SEALED IN THE BLOOD OF JESUS, IN YOU FOREVER IN JESUS NAME AMEN!
