PERSEVERE WITH JOYFUL HEARTS

I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.

John 17:23 NLT

OUR text is the Lord's prayer before He willingly went into passion for us. This verse is so sweet and joyful, imagine that our Lord Jesus is in us for two good reasons: "that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me."

Firstly, "that the world will know that you sent me", Ponder this, why did God send Jesus to us? John 10:10 says "...I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." In another place John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life."

So the Holy Spirit is in us bearing witness, displaying to the world that we have eternal life, God kind of life, He wants the world to know that we have a rich and satisfying life. Secondly He wants the world to also know that God loves us, what a life. God is displaying His love through us.

That is why, Beloved, we should learn how to endure trial times, persevere, James 1-1 tells us to count it all joy. They are opportunities for God to display to the world that He sent Jesus and that He loves us as much as He loves Jesus, so they can come back to Him! Glory!
