.. Today, if you will hear His voice: “Do not harden your hearts, as in the rebellion, As in the day of trial in the wilderness,
Psalms 95:7-8 NKJV
In the Bible, Peter and other disciples toiled all night but couldn't catch a single fish, in the morning, Jesus saw their empty boats and sat on it to teach people. When He had stopped speaking, He told Peter to launch out his net into the deep for a catch and He obeyed and caught lots of fish. (Luke 5)
Something remarkable happened here, Peter allowed Him to use His boat to teach, even though business was bad, and he also waited and listened to His teaching. That was why Peter, though having a bad day, got the faith to obey His command. “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” (Luke 5:5 NKJV) This shows the significance of waiting on the Lord and hearing the word.
The Lord is not moved by our tribulations, but wants us to get the word in our Spirit first. No wonder in Luke 5, He first fed them the word before giving Him the command to get fish. That is why the Bible says "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." (Romans 10:17 NKJV) So, be voracious for the word of God first, and see your life transformed.
WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO BE THIRSTY FOR WORD OF GOD IN JESUS NAME AMEN!
THANK YOU JESUS!
