THE AUTHORITY IN THE NAME OF JESUS

Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “We exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches.” Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?” Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, overpowered them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.- Acts 19:13‭-‬16 NKJV

We can live and function in the name of Jesus because we are born into Christ. In our text, the name did not work for them for they are not baptized into Christ. The name is set aside for the family of God to live in. Isaiah describes it as the Highway of Holiness, set aside for the redeemed and not for the unclean. (Isaiah 35:8‭-‬9)

In the name of Jesus, we are made the image and likeness of God. In him there is no darkness", that means no sickness or failures. In Christ, we are the brightness of God's glory and the express image of His person (Hebrews 1:3) Why? " for as He is, so are we in this world."

No wonder the Bible says "Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.

WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO STAND FIRM IN THE AUTHORITY WE HAVE IN THE NAME OF JESUS TO THE GLORY OF GOD THE FATHER IN JESUS NAME AMEN!
