THE JOY OF ASKING AND RECEIVING III

Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full -"John 16:24 MEV

The third reason why we can ask and receive is that we are His righteousness in Christ. God is not answering us because of our righteousness, but by His righteousness. Let us be conscious of this, and walk in His righteousness at all times.

The Bible says "For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

(II Corinthians 5:21 NKJV) Righteousness is a gift of God, it is God's right standing, it is the ability to stand before God blameless or guiltless, it is God's own ways of doing things right.

Because we are His righteousness in Christ, we have right standing before Him as Jesus is, that is we stand before Him as righteous as Jesus is, and when we ask Him, we are asking in the righteousness of Jesus and He cannot reject us. Above all, He is the one that keeps us blameless and from falling! So as much as we abide in Jesus we are righteous forever.
