THE LORD IS JUST

The Lord replies, “I have seen violence done to the helpless, and I have heard the groans of the poor. Now I will rise up to rescue them, as they have longed for me to do.” - Psalms 12:5 NLT

The Lord is a just God, righteousness and justice are the foundations of His throne. In Psalm 9:9 NLT He is called the Shelter of the Oppressed. He never fails to set things right for His people. He says in our theme verse, " I have heard the groans of the poor. Now I will rise up to rescue them,".

Just as He told Moses, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. So I have come down to rescue them…"

(Exodus 3:7‭-‬8 NIV)

The same way, He spoke to Isaiah concerning us , "The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed." (Isaiah 61:1 NLT)

Has He done it? yes, in Luke 4:21, after Jesus read this verse of Isaiah in the synagogue, He said “The Scripture you’ve just heard has been fulfilled this very day!” . It is finished beloved, we are redeemed, the snare is broken! Glory!

Let us stand strong in this testimony in trials, with the awareness that He is a just God, and has already rescued us!
