THEY BELIEVED AND WALKED

This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

Luke 2:12 NIV

It was said that the distance from Nazareth to the manger in Bethlehem is 100 miles, that is how far Joseph and Mary walked. The flight to Egypt was another 200 miles and finally they walked another 300 miles from Egypt back to Nazareth.

How were they able to walk such miles in such their vulnerable state? The answer is the Holy Spirit. They believed the word of God spoken to them by the angel. Jesus Said that God's command leads to eternal life. (John 12:50) It gives you God kind of strength, for they are spirit and life.They agreed to God's commands.

All we need is to agree to His command.

Remember the rule of agreement, “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven"

(Matthew 18:19 ) This is a bonus for married couples to exploit.

So once two agree, the Father does it, so Mary and Joseph did not walk those miles by their strength but the Spirit of the Father in the baby strengthened them. They were not the ones carrying the baby, but the baby carried them. Simeon thought He was the one presenting the baby Jesus, rather Jesus was presenting Him. " For my eyes have seen your salvation "

That is how our salvation works today, we thought we are the ones working out our own salvation but "it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.(Philippians 2:13) "For we no longer live, but Christ lives in us "
