SATURATE THE SPIRIT WITH THE WORD OF GOD

The words of the wise are like goads, their collected sayings like firmly embedded nails—given by one shepherd.

Ecclesiastes 12:11 NIV

Goads are sharp sticks used by shepherds to make the flock go the right way. They are painful but helpful. That is what the word of God is compared to in our verse above. Sometime in the past, I asked the Lord for wealth, then I wasn't sure about my calling, He gave me that verse above. Today that is the best thing that ever happened to me.

Think calmly about this: if the word of God is in your spirit, it will make you live the right way in life, and nothing can kick against you. No wonder the Lord Jesus said to St. Paul, then Saul: "‘Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’ (Acts 26:14 NIV)

Stay with the word, keep ingesting them and it will move you to the right paths of life. David said "..your rod and your staff, they comfort me. (Psalms 23:4 NIV) Imagine how much we need comfort, rest in these dark days. No wonder when Noah was born, Lameck named him, Noah ,meaning rest,comfort, for He said, “He will comfort us in the labor and painful toil of our hands caused by the ground the Lord has cursed.” (Genesis 5:29 NIV)
