But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.”- Luke 5:5 NKJV

Psalms 33:5 NKJV tells us that "the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord". But the world does not see this for it has the wrong perception of God, they live by sight. We can train our hearts to notice this goodness of God around us by listening to God's words, living them out irrespective of what our earthly circumstances reflect.

In the verses preceding our theme, Peter did not know that the same river he toiled all night but couldn't catch a single fish, is actually loaded with fish, until he listened to Jesus command, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”

The good news is that the Lord has moved us from a place of scarcity to a place of abundance. In the case of Peter, from the realm of empty boats to the realm of boats filled with fish in danger of sinking. This is the joy of the gospel, for it is not by toiling but by grace. Hallelujah! That is why St. Paul said." He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love." (Colossians 1:13 NKJV)

OUR joyful duty is to keep listening to His words, feeding on them until they penetrate deep into hearts and we see our hearts trained to notice all the spiritual riches, know that indeed despite the wrongs we see around us, that the earth is filled with His goodness.

WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO SEE GOD'S BOUNDLESS GOODNESS IN JESUS NAME AMEN!

THANK YOU JESUS!
