DO NOT BE DEFINED BY YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES III

At Horeb they made a calf and worshiped a molten image. They exchanged their Glory for the image of a grass-eating ox.

Psalms 106:19‭-‬20 BSB

Moses went up to meet the Lord, the children of Israel ran out of patience waiting for him and said to Aaron, "Make us gods who will go before us. As for this Moses who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has happened to him!" (Exodus 32:23 BSB)

Ponder this: The Israelites telling Aaron to make gods for them shows that they still didn't know the difference between God who brought them out of Egypt and the gods of Egypt. That is why they lack the patience to wait for Moses to return. This is why today, many lose patience in waiting for God and dive into ill gotten gains in areas of wealth,marriages, ministries, etc. " They exchanged their Glory for the image of a grass-eating ox."

Have you asked why God allowed the first sign in Egypt? Moses' rod turned into a serpent, But Pharaoh's sorcerers and magicians each threw down their staff, and each became a serpent. But Aaron’s staff swallowed up the other staff.

(Exodus 7:11‭-‬12) This is because God allowed it to make a difference.

Remember, we are a chosen and peculiar breed, chosen to show forth His excellences. Sometimes we might experience some delays in life, that does not mean that God has forsaken us, but instead, He is making a difference in our lives. Our duty is to wait patiently for our only true God! That is why the Bible says, "imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised." (Hebrews 6:‬12 BSB)
