WE ARE A PECULIAR PEOPLE VIII

• A CHOSEN GENERATION

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:- 1 Peter 2:9 KJV

Our text is one that every child of God should recite everyday like an anthem. It defines the totality of our calling as children of God. It can be likened to someone that wants to display a new business. That means displaying the best in class.

Beloved, we are a chosen generation that means our generation is chosen by God and for God and not by ourselves and for ourselves. Do you ever think ancestral or foundational forces will have any hold on us? The Lord said "“From eternity to eternity I am God. No one can snatch anyone out of my hand. No one can undo what I have done.”(Isaiah 43:13 NLT)

As a chosen generation, we partake in his divine nature, because we display his divine life, that is God's virtues and excellences, "that ye should shew forth the praises of him". If we are built to display God-kind of life on earth, do you think we should live in sin, sickness, wretchedness, untimely death or any failures in life?

No wonder the psalmist wrote "Your eyes saw me unformed, yet in Your book all my days were written, before any of them came into being. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand;

We are not ordinary beloved, let us not live our lives for ourselves but for him.

WE BLESS YOU GOD THE LOVING FATHER OF OUR LORD JESUS FOR YOU HAVE MADE US PECULIAR IN CHRIST AND IT IS MARVELOUS IN OUR EYES!
