WE ARE EMPOWERED BY THE SPIRIT TO SPEAK GOD'S WORDS

For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure. 

John 3:34 NKJV

We are sent to declare God’s excellence and praises.  1 Peter 2:9 NKJV says,  “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”

Man, in his fallen nature, cannot speak God’s words or declare His excellence, for he lives in the realm of the senses. That is why  51:15 NKJV says: “O Lord, open my lips, And my mouth shall show forth Your praise.”

This is why the Lord sent His Spirit as our Helper.  Acts 1:8 NKJV says, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses unto Me...”

Yes, the Holy Spirit has opened our mouths wide so we can speak God’s words. Our Lord Jesus Christ, while on earth, never stopped speaking the words of the Father. He said, “The words I speak are not My own.” Even the temple guards could not arrest Him when they were sent by the Jewish authorities. In  7:46 NKJV, they said, “No man ever spoke like this Man!”

Beloved, Jesus never spoke His own words, and the Holy Spirit does not speak His own words, but only the words of Christ. We have received the same Spirit without measure, therefore we also ought to speak God’s words.

The Word of God in our mouths is sharper than any two-edged sword. Ephesians 6 calls it “the sword of the Spirit.” Jeremiah 23:29 says that His Word burns like fire and is like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces.

Therefore, let us not speak according to our feelings, earthly circumstances, or human wisdom, but according to God’s Word. For when we speak His Word, heaven backs it, power accompanies it, and lives are transformed.
