WE ARE GOD'S GLORIOUS INHERITANCE

"...the riches of His glorious inheritance in His holy people."

— Ephesians 1:18

Beloved, we are not people who chase earthly riches, for within us dwells the riches of God's glorious inheritance. We are the Body of Christ and have been blessed with every spiritual blessing (Ephesians 1:3).

Just as a fish in the ocean never fears running out of water, we should never fear lack because we live in the abundance of God's riches. Jesus said, "In my Father's house are many rooms" (John 14:2). We are not troubled by the thief who comes to steal, kill, and destroy, because Christ has given us life—and life in all its fullness (John 10:10).

Therefore, let us avoid greed and the unhealthy pursuit of earthly wealth. Much of the corruption in the world is fueled by greed and sinful desires. The Israelites experienced this in the wilderness when the manna they hoarded beyond their daily portion spoiled. God was teaching them to trust Him daily.

But in Christ, we have escaped that corruption. As 2 Peter 1:4 (NIV) says: "Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires."

This is why the Holy Spirit wants us to know the riches of God's glorious inheritance are already in us. When we understand this truth, we are set free from greed and can live contentedly, confidently, and generously, knowing that our true riches are found in Christ.
