WE ARE KEPT IN HIS NAME CONCLUDES

“And I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, which You have given Me, that they may be one, even as We are one.”

— John 17:11 ESV

In our previous studies, we discussed how we are kept in God's name, sanctified by the holiness of His great name, and preserved and protected by His power. All these blessings are accomplished through the ministry of the Holy Spirit. "And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules." (Ezekiel 36:27 ESV)

The Holy Spirit comes in the authority of the name of Jesus and works to reveal and glorify Him. Jesus said in John 14:26 NIV, But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” In another place, He said, "He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you." (John 16:14 NIV)

The Holy Spirit is also God's seal upon our salvation. Ephesians 1:13 ESV says,

"In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit."

This seal is permanent and secure—it is not leaky or fragile. Through the indwelling Holy Spirit, God marks us as His own and sets us apart from the corruption, decay, of this fallen world. We are preserved by His power, sanctified by His presence, and secured for the day of redemption. The Holy Spirit continually works within us, conforming us to the image of Christ and enabling us to walk in the fullness of God's purpose for our lives.
