WE ARE MADE WHOLE IN CHRIST

and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”I Corinthians 11:24 NKJV

Why was Jesus' body broken? Why did He allow his body to be broken?. Isaiah 53:5NLT says " He was beaten so we could be whole.

Before the coming of Christ, man's life was broken, alienated, dead to God, hence subject to elemental forces of this world including sin and death. The psalmist said about it:

"You have brought a vine out of Egypt; You have cast out the nations and planted it. It sent out its branches to the sea and its shoots to the River. Why have You then broken down its walls, so that all those who pass by the way pluck its fruit? The boar from the woods ravages it, and the insects of the field devour it. Return again, O God of Hosts; look down from heaven, and behold, have regard for this vine (Psalms 80:8‭, ‬11‭-‬14 MEV)

Today, God has visited this vine, and made us whole in Christ Jesus. We are engrafted in Christ, our true Vine as his branch, as the only body Christ has. Can Christ's body be plundered, broken or devoured? We are now consubstantial with the Holy Trinity. That is why 2 Peter 1:4 calls us partakers of His divine nature, we are associates, joint heirs with Jesus of His divine nature.

So our peace and well being is God- kind, and no longer human kind that can easily be plundered. Colossians 2:10 NKJV says "you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power." This is why we should take holy communion very seriously, for it guarantees our union with the Lord.
