WE ARE SANCTIFIED I

Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.- John 17:17 NKJV

God is the one that sanctified us, it doesn't matter how our earthly circumstances are, we are sanctified by his truth, that is His word. How did He sanctify us? By the word of His truth . James 1:18 NKJV says "Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures."

His truth sets us apart from the rest of humans, bears witness of who we are, our real identity as children who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:13)

The Lord said "Instead of bronze I will bring gold, and instead of iron I will bring silver;

(Isaiah 60:17 AMPC) Iron is subject to rust, if you convert it to gold, will it rust? No, why? Because gold is made of a different substance from iron. It is not subject to water and oxygen,and other elements that cause iron to rust, because it is the least reactive of all metals.

The same way, after baptism, we are no longer subject to the elements that control human life.. Why? Because we are made new with a substance different from that in ordinary human life. We are born of the imperishable word of His truth. The same substance as Jesus. Remember, "We were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

That is why Jesus asked the Father to sanctify us, that is to set us apart, make us holy by His Truth, His words. So we don't see ourselves as humans that are of this world, rather children of the Holy Spirit. "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.(John 3:6 NKJV) The Spirit we received in our new birth is not that same spirit of man that makes us fearful slaves, rather Spirit of sonship (Rom 8:15)
