WE ARE THE REDEEMED OF THE LORD

Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out! Tell others he has redeemed you from your enemies - Psalms 107:2 NLT

We are the redeemed of Lord, His saved ones, the final product of His redemptive work. Isaiah 62:12 NIV says, "They will be called the Holy People, the Redeemed of the Lord; and you will be called Sought After, the City No Longer Deserted." TO understand what it means to be the redeemed of the Lord, we need to first understand who our redeemer is.

God did not only redeem us, He also made sure we don't slip into captivity again. Psalms 56:13 NLT says, "For you have rescued me from death; you have kept my feet from slipping. So now I can walk in your presence, O God, in your life-giving light." I like how the Message translation says it in Psalm 40:2: " He lifted me out of the ditch, pulled me from deep mud. He stood me up on a solid rock to make sure I wouldn’t slip"

Isaiah 35:10 NLT says this about us;

"Those who have been ransomed by the Lord will return. They will enter Jerusalem singing, crowned with everlasting joy. Sorrow and mourning will disappear, and they will be filled with joy and gladness."

Let us always have this mindset of who the redeemed of the Lord is, be optimistic, always expect good not bad. For old things have passed away, Sorrow and mourning have disappeared and we are crowned with joy and gladness.
