WE TEND AND KEEP

Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. - Genesis 2:15 NKJV

Psalms 115:16 NKJV says, "The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s; But the earth He has given to the children of men." God’s plan on sending us to the earth is for us to tend and keep it, that is to manage it. It is not for us to fight for heaven, for we were born in heaven.

That is why the Bible says, "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

(Ephesians 2:10 NKJV) The question is are we living for ourselves or are we doing these good works through Jesus?

For instance, the Lord might choose to put us in any job or family, place of worship etc. Our duty is to tend and keep it. Our presence, deeds and prayers there ensures peace and prosperity of that place. Remember God loves the world of human beings that He sent His only son to redeem it. The same way, He sent us from heaven to preserve it, that is to tend and keep the world. That is why we are not defined by our job, marital status etc, for we are sent!

No wonder the Bible says, "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior," (I Timothy 2:1‭-‬3 NKJV)
