WHY DID GOD REST? II

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy - Exodus 20:8 KJV

… on the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens, before any plant of the field was in the earth and before any herb of the field had grown. For the Lord God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to till the ground; - Genesis 2:4‭-‬5 NKJV

We notice that in the history of creation, God did not rest until He created man. "and there was no man to till the ground;" So man's duty was to tend to the garden. But we failed. So now we are recreated in Christ to carry out this task of tending, maintaining.

Ephesians 2:10 NLT says "For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago."

So we are created for good works,

So as those created in His righteousness, we uphold God's rightness on earth, we disallow anything that is not in conformity with the will of God on earth. "casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

(II Corinthians 10:5 NKJV)

That is why Psalms 110:1 says "The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.”
