A)REAFFIRM YOUR FAITH

As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, “Look, here is water. What can stand in the way of my being baptized?” Acts 8:36

"WHAT CAN STAND IN THE WAY OF OUR BEING BAPTIZED"

.Through baptism, we are dead to this world and alive in Christ [ Rom 6:4] The dead do not experience sickness, afflictions, sin and its distress as well as financial difficulty. A dead person does not experience pain, shame, disappointment etc.

Because we are baptized, we are dead to the elemental spiritual forces of this world(Col 2:20), they have no control over us. We are alive in Christ, that is eternal life, hence has

"crossed over from death to Life". "We are no longer under the law of sin and death, but under the law of Spirit of Life"

After baptism, the enemy might still throw us those challenges but consider them as opportunities to reaffirm your faith. The more we refuse those challenges, the less chances they come back. It is a gradual process. It is just like a baby growing up, learning how to walk and talk. As the scripture says " work out your own salvation with fear and trembling" [ Philippians 2:12]

Never accept any ugly situations as normal, even headaches, always reaffirm that we are dead to this world and alive in Christ. Christ is our new world now, that is where we live. The bible says "Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God" [Col 3:2‭-‬3]

WHY FEAR ?

We have been rescued from our enemies so we can serve God without fear,

Luke 1:74 NLT

Jesus gave us the gift of baptism . Through baptism we are baptized into the kingdom of God as children of God. Col 1:13 tells us that God rescued us from powers of darkness into the kingdom of his son Jesus. I Cor 6:17 tells us that we are one spirit with Jesus. This is because through baptism, we received the anointing of the Holy Spirit which is joined with our spirit in oneness.

Isaiah 10:27 says "It shall come to pass in that day That his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, And his yoke from your neck, And the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil." This means that any yoke the devil placed on us or will place on us is destroyed because of the anointing we received through baptism.

So why do we fear? Have we asked ourselves this question, what is the worst that can happen to us? Death? We were dead longtime ago by this same baptism. John 5:24 tells us we have eternal life and has crossed from death to life. Romans 8;:2 says we are no longer under the law of sin and death, rather under law of Spirit of Life.

So why is fear preventing us from doing the work God called us out of darkness to do? Remember the words of the Lord: "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.(Matthew 10:28‭-‬31)

WHY FEAR II ?

We have been rescued from our enemies so we can serve God without fear,

Luke 1:74 NLT

John the Baptist said this about Jesus "He must increase, but I must decrease." (John 3:30) The major reason why we fear is that we do the opposite of what John the Baptist said in the verse above. We increase in our human reasoning, with little or no space for the Spirit of Jesus in us to increase. We are concerned more about our human life that will not last, than our divine life that will last forever.

If a surgeon is presented with a patient with a fractured skull, will the surgeon run away in fear ? Of course no, why ? Because he or she is a surgeon. The same way, anyone born of God "shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day,Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday." Psalms 91:5-6 .Why? Because he/she is born of God.

We have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.(II Cor 4:7) When we fear, we are displaying our own excellence and not God's, the enemy uses fear to prevent us from displaying the virtues of him who called us out of darkness. Hence, we increase and God decreases.

Remember the words of the Lord “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." - Matthew 5:14‭-‬16

WHY FEAR III?

We have been rescued from our enemies so we can serve God without fear,

Luke 1:74 NLT

Hebrew 2:14 says "Because God’s children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death.

1John 3:8 tells us that" the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." And we know that He completed his work on earth for He said " I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.(John 17:4 )

We also know in Col 2:15 that He "disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. Why do we still fear? We Know that "if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.(2 Cor 5:1)

Remember, the Lord is the True Vine, we are the branches. The branch bears the fruit that displays the glory not the vine. Without the branch, it is difficult to know the Vine. We display the glory, excellence, virtues and splendor of God our Father. That is why we were called out of darkness.

If we don't do our part because of fear, that means we are not in agreement with the purpose of our calling. Amos 3:3 says "Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so? That is why the Lord said "He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.(Jn 15:2)

WHY FEAR ?

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

Matthew 10:28

When God created us, He breathed into us, the breath of life, and God's Spirit, our light source dwelt in us and we became a living soul. Our spirit is covered by the flesh, and the spirit dominates the flesh. After the fall, the Holy Spirit departed from our spirit, and the flesh gets dominion, thereby demanding for a cover, for it's now in charge. This suggests why God asked Adam " Who told you that you were naked? ( Gen 3:11) God knows Adam was not speaking from the spirit but under the dictates of the flesh..

So when we fear, we are acting out of carnal dictates, who is worried about itself being destroyed, and not the spirit. Because the spirit cannot be destroyed by the forces of this world except God, but the flesh is dust and will go back to dust. This suggests why when we listen to or study the word of God, we lose the fear of this world and gain trust in God, because the word of God is a life giving Spirit, and its entrance gives light to our spirit, for our spirit is dead without the Holy Spirit. Peter denied Jesus out of fear of dead, but when the Holy Spirit came upon him, he became fearless and bold to the amazement of the Jewish authorities( Acts 4:13)

Therefore, when the flesh tempts us to fear, reject it, because that flesh is crucified with Christ and we are dead to the elemental forces of this world, such as sickness. Untimely death, etc, Instead, grow in faith in our God, through the scriptures.

Remember, fear means absence of confidence in God, and it is not good in God's sight, because you can't please God without faith ( Heb 11:6)

We pray for the grace to reject fear of this world and grow in fear of God in Jesus name Amen!

Thank You Jesus!

FEAR NO DEATH

When he was near death, he said, “It is my choice to die at the hands of mortals with the hope that God will restore me to life; but for you, there will be no resurrection to life.”

2 Maccabees 7:14

We are born of the Holy Spirit, hence shall live forever, unless we don't believe in Jesus. We have this confident hope that even when this physical body is taken away, God shall clothe us with immortal body, therefore let's not be intimidated by death. The scripture says "For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.

(Rom 6:4) If we died with Christ and was raised with him, that means we are Spirit beings in human body and shall live forever.

We know that because of the sin of one man, death entered, but Christ has destroyed the bonds of death. According to the scripture ⁶For as much then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil -Heb 2:14

We are already dead to the world and cannot be ruled by the elemental forces of this world, just as death. The most important is to believe in Jesus and live a life led by the Spirit of God and we shall get to our destination home. Remember the words of the Lord "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but has passed from death unto life -John 5:24

The truth is this, our light comes from Jesus and not from the world. So it is unquenchable, not even by powers of death. That is why it is necessary for us to walk in the light of God. So the scripture says " The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? (Ps 27:1)

God has transferred us to the kingdom of light of his son. The only transition we experience is when our spirit departs leaving this earthly body behind, and goes back to God, the guardian of our souls, and "In the last days, , this corruptible body will put on incorruptible and this mortal body put on immortality" -1 Cor 15:‬53

Therefore, let's put our trust in God and wait patiently in joyful hope for God to fulfill that He promised.

We pray for the grace to get rid of every spirit of fear of death in our lives in Jesus name Amen!

Thank You Jesus!

NO MORE FEARS

Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.” John 2:19

We are the temple of God and the Lord is assuring us in our verse that we cannot be destroyed. The bible says "Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple [1 Cor 3:16‭-‬17]

The Lord said "I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there -2 Chronicles 7:16 Imagine what it means for the Lord's eyes and hearts to be on us.

No more fears for the Lord is watching over his temple, remember He is a jealous God and a consuming fire. He himself is a protective wall of fire around us " [ Zech 2:5]

We pray for the grace to lose fear in our lives in Jesus name Amen!

Thank You Jesus!
