“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John 14:27 NKJV
The human brain has this protective mechanism whereby under overwhelming stress conditions, it shuts down the center for decision making and activates the center for emotions, leading to irrational thoughts. Similarly, when we fear, or worry in face of tribulations, we are shutting off the flow of the Spirit and activating the flesh. Galatians 5 tells us that peace is a fruit of the spirit and discord on the other hand, is one of the works of the flesh.
Peace is from the Greek word,” Eirene, which is derived from the verb, “Eiro” which means to join together that which was separated. So, when we fear, we activate discord, meaning disagreement, a work of the flesh. Hence, bringing separation between the two that were joined together. Amos 3:3 NKJV says, Can two walk together, unless they are agreed? Do you agree to who God is and what He does? “You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.”
(Isaiah 26:3 NKJV)
That is why the Lord emphasized, Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Instead of reacting with fear in tribulations, we should respond with the word of God. This activates the fruit of the spirit, peace. II Peter 1:2 NKJV says, “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,”.
Be calm and enjoy His peace
WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO BE CALM IN TRIBULATIONS SO AS TO EXPERIENCE AND TESTIFY TO HIS WORKING POWER IN OUR LIVES IN JESUS NAME AMEN!
THANK YOU JESUS!
