Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John 14:27 NKJV
Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” A heart saturated with troubles, fears and anxieties. is of the flesh. For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of sound mind. A fearful or troubled heart cannot triumph under storm, for flesh accomplishes nothing, only the spirit does. Also, flesh is enmity to God, which gives a foothold to the enemy. Remember Job's words, “For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, And what I dreaded has happened to me.” (Job 3:25 NKJV) So, “let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
To be calm and enjoy the peace of God in tribulations is to keep our minds stayed on His words, and His words are Spirit and life. That is why Galatians 5:16 NKJV says, “Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” Instead of living in fear which activates the works of the flesh, in enmity to God. We should seek His face when we are afraid, be Christ conscious. Psalms 56:3 NIV says,”When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”
That is why 1 Peter 5:7-8 NIV says, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. “ TO be alert and sober mind is to keep our minds stayed on christ. Anxieties, fears are all footholds for the enemy. We should cast them to the Lord, for the enemy is looking for who has them.
Be calm and enjoy His peace
WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO BE CALM IN TRIBULATIONS SO AS TO EXPERIENCE AND TESTIFY TO HIS WORKING POWER IN OUR LIVES IN JESUS NAME AMEN!
THANK YOU JESUS!
