BE CHILDLIKE IN THINGS OF GOD

Powerful princes he tears from their thrones and he lifts up the lowly to take their place.

Be childlike in things of God, Think of what it means that the powerful princes are replaced by the lowly. This explains the power of the gospel that exalts the lowly, the childlike. Consider those that are remembered forever in our salvation history. The shepherds believed the message of the angels that they abandoned their flock which is never done. They don't mind losing their job over such a message.

Consider Simeon, He is not even a priest, high priest or a scholar, yet He proclaimed Jesus as the salvation " My eyes have seen your salvation.” The Jewish authorities might have thrown him out of the temple for that, but here he is lifted up, “Lord, now You are letting Your servant depart in peace, According to Your word; For my eyes have seen Your salvation"‭‭ (Luke‬ ‭2:29‭-‬30‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

How about Mary , the lowly virgin maiden, " For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant; For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed." (‭‭Luke‬ ‭1:48‬ ‭NKJV‬‬) Not only is she called blessed, but also the mother of her Savior. How about us, the gospel has also exalted us, for we were dead in trespasses but made alive by His grace. ‭‭Hosea‬ ‭1:10‬ ‭NIV‬‬ says " In the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ they will be called ‘children of the living God.’

Let us take the gospel to the poor and lowly, to the ends of the earth!
