BE ENTHRONED OVER ALL THINGS VI

Shake off your dust; rise up, sit enthroned, Jerusalem. Free yourself from the chains on your neck, Daughter Zion, now a captive.

Isaiah 52:2 NIV

When the Lord heard that Lazarus was sick, He said: “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.” (John 11:4 NIV)

Notice that Jesus did not enthrone the circumstances over God’s glory. He did not allow sickness to have the final say. But when Jesus arrived after Lazarus had died, Martha said to Him:“Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” (John 11:21 NIV) Martha gave death the final word. But Jesus would not allow death to be enthroned above God’s glory.

He responded: ““I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.” (John 11:25 NIV) Jesus once again enthroned God’s glory above the circumstances. What looked like the end was not the end. Death could not overrule the One who is the Resurrection and the Life.

The Bible tells us that death entered the world because of sin, for “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23 NIV). But Christ came and glorified God on the earth. He declared: “I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do. (John 17:4 NIV)

Beloved, Christ has finished the work. Therefore, circumstances: Sickness, delay, Loss, And even death does not have the final say.God alone is worthy of the throne.

So shake off the dust. Rise up. Sit enthroned in Christ. Refuse to allow what you see around you to determine what you believe about God.
