BE HUMBLE UNDER HIS POWER

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,

I Peter 5:6 NKJV

In Deuteronomy 8:3 NKJV, Moses said to the Israelites, “ So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.”

In the same way, God is also humbling us, for we have treasures in weak vessels. Why? So our power of excellence might be from Him alone. (2 Corinthians 4:7)We are humbled for though we have the Spirit of God in us, we still carry a body that has not been redeemed yet, a weak body with its senses, susceptible to sin and distress.

Romans 8:23 NKJV says, “Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.” Just as the Israelites, our humility lies in living beyond our feelings, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. That is to rest in our union with Christ, irrespective of our personal experiences, for the battle is no longer ours, but the Lord’s.
