BE INTIMATE WITH GOD

 ‘For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them.

Ezekiel 34:11 NIV

We were the ones that went astray, but God came by Himself, personally searching for us. He came as a human, a baby and spent a good 33 years with us from birth till death. This shows that God did not only come to save us, but for something deeper, He wants an intimate relationship with us. That was Jesus' mission on earth, eternal life. In John 17:3 NIV the Lord said , “ Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.”

Christmas is really the good time to ponder our relationship with God. Jesus did not come to make us known to the Father, for the Father already knew us even from our mothers womb. Psalms 139:3 TPT says, “You are so intimately aware of me, Lord.” Rather, He came to make the Father known to us, and will continue to do so through His Spirit in us. “I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.” ( John 17:26 NIV)

Our part is to abide in Him through His words.
