BE JOYFUL

Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

Nehemiah 8:10 NIV

Are you enjoying the joy of the Lord, the joy you did not work for? This is not the joy of our accomplishments, rather the joy of what Jesus accomplished in you? The joy of the Holy Spirit. That is why Christianity is a life of continuous, superfluous outflow of joy.

Psalms 46:4 TPT says, “God has a constantly flowing river whose sparkling streams bring joy and delight to his people. His river flows right through the city of God Most High, into his holy dwelling places.” WE are His dwelling places ,glory! We need to tap into this joy daily by chewing on His words daily, then out of us will flow rivers of joy.

Hebrews 12:2 NIV says, “fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” And Isaiah 53:11 NLT says, “When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied.”

Think calmly about this, Jesus for the joy of seeing us joyful, endured the cross, and He shall see us joyful and be joyful!

No wonder Philippians 4:4 NLT says,

“Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! “
