But the angel said to him: “Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to call him John.
Luke 1:13 NIV
In our theme, Zechariah's prayer was answered but the issue was that He even doubted that God could answer his prayer. How many times have we prayed and did not see our answer immediately, and concluded that God did not answer us? Many prayed and forgot what they prayed for and when it was answered. In Christianity, Prayer is a way we relate to our Heavenly Father, who already knows what we need. And is our ever present help, not based on our performance but that of our Lord Jesus Christ.
At the end of the Lord’s prayer, His prayer before He willingly went into passion, He called God the righteous Father.( John 17:25) That is a Father who always does what is right and just. If God is a just God why wouldn't He answer His beloved children? “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!”(Matthew 7:9-11 NIV)
The Lord says in His parable of the persistent widow, “And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? (Luke 18:7 NIV) Yes God answers His chosen ones when they pray, and we are His chosen ones “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.”
WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO BE STEADFAST IN PRAYERS IN JESUS NAME AMEN!
THANK YOU JESUS!
